Disney has a new film called Jungle Cruise set to be released sometime in 2014, but don’t be surprised if it gets postponed. The movie was originally planned for 2007, but kept getting pushed back for various reasons. One of those reasons included the hiring of an additional writer for the script, Roger S. H. Schulman. The film is based off of the Jungle Cruise ride found inside of the Disney theme park. My girls and I absolutely love that ride, and always find the captain to be quite entertaining.
I enjoyed Tom Hanks and Tim Allen together in Disney’s Toy Story, so I am excited to see them in action again in this new film. Most of the details about the movie are being kept secret, but The Hollywood Reporter leaked that Tim Allen will star as the cruise ship’s captain and Tom Hanks as a family man.
It’s possible that this adventure film will have a group of individuals on a cruise ship journey in search of a cure of some kind. Hopefully more details will be released soon. I love the whole idea of a jungle cruise, as there are so many possibilities as to what can happen in the film.
I’m hoping all of the postponements will result in a one-of-a-kind movie just as Toy Story was. Maybe it will even have sequels like Toy Story. I’ll just have to practice my patience in waiting for the film to be shot and released. With such A-list actors on board though, I’m sure we won’t be disappointed.
